School of Science and Technology Willow Creek
Key Construction successfully completed a 27,000 SF, one-story school designed to serve Pre-kindergarten through 6th grade students. The building was constructed using cast-in-place tilt-up concrete wall panels and structural steel, providing long-term durability and efficiency.
One of the most significant challenges of this project was the site work, as the existing soil conditions were extremely wet and soft due to consistent rain throughout the construction period. Our team navigated these difficulties by implementing strategic solutions to maintain progress while ensuring site stability. Additionally, we had to coordinate closely with the Developer’s Site contractor, as their work was a key condition for the school’s opening. This required careful scheduling and collaboration to ensure both teams could complete their respective scopes efficiently.
The project also included a 6,400 SF shade structure over the children’s play area and playground equipment, providing a safe and comfortable outdoor space for students. Despite the challenges, the school was successfully completed on schedule, delivering a high-quality learning environment for young students.
