International Leadership of Texas Katy Westpark Expansion
This 35,000 SF single-story project was an addition to an existing, operating high school. It included the extension of two existing classroom wings, adding another classroom wing, adding a detention pond, re-routing existing site utilities, reworking existing site paving, and upgrading existing landscaping and lighting to LED fixtures as well as adding lightning protection to the entire building. The structure is comprised of continuous spread footings, slab on grade, cold-formed wall framing, cold-formed metal trusses with supplemental structural steel components. The exterior shell is composed of EIFS/thin brick with fiberglass column accents, TPO roofing with roof overbuild with asphalt shingling. Mechanical systems are RTU’s with thermostats controlled at a main bank. The interior finishes include polished concrete flooring, carpet tile, paint, tile, and Sisal wall covering with chair rails, and acoustical ceiling systems. The additions included chemistry, art, and a JROTC rifle range specialty classrooms and support areas.
