Parkside Psychiatric Hospital
This new 120,000 SF, 5-story facility has 80 single-occupancy beds: 20 for adult care, 20 for children, 20 for adolescents, and 20 acute beds for substance abuse and detoxification. The facility will allow Parkside to address major community needs by more than doubling the number of in-patient mental health beds at their current facility. This new facility will also include expanded outpatient services in an effort to address and limit the long-term effects of poor mental health on children. Tulsa currently has fewer than 29 psychiatric beds per 100,000 people (or four times below the national average). Several area funders provided financial support for the project, including the A.R. and Marylouise Tandy Foundation and the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation.
